Stain magic

$.97 grocery store ammonia and $5 a quart ( if not on sale ) 40 vol peroxide from sally beauty supply. It does feel a little weird going in there. So for $6 bucks you get the same thing as $30 stain magic.

Yep, equal amounts. Let the customer know about the ammonia smell and about getting peroxide on their skin.

I'm pretty sure there is more to it. I think there is some sodium hydroxide(lye) added to the peroxide to raise the ph and probably some surfactants to penetrate better.
I wanted to try adding the sodium hydroxide to the amonia but after reading the warnings on it decided it wasn't worth messing with. I happenned to have some of Hydramaster's Blitz on the truck which contains hydroxide and has a mixed ph of 12.5. I added that to the amonia and it seems to give better results.

Are you sure BLITZ contains lye?
In a powdered form?

That would be news to me!
