I have been out of the cleaning business for the last 5 years. I've been doing catastrophe insurance adjusting for some independent firms representing State Farm. I'm tired of being away from home for 6-8 months, stuck in a office for 11 hrs a day, 7 days a week.

I'm getting back into the carpet cleaning business. My carpet cleaning business did around 150,000 a year from 2001-2007. I am now starting over. I don't have very many clients and cannot make a living on just carpet cleaning.

How do you start over? I love cleaning carpets... I have a 2001 butler that looks brand new.. everyday I look on craigslist for any sub-contracting work... I mail out post cards to old clients...talk to property management companies....talk to realestate agents...

I'm 51 now...I just want to clean carpets....any advice?

Ted I had to suplement carpet cleaning with water damage until I got my business up and running.
Did water damage for about 3-5 years.
It might fit if you have been doing ins. Adjustments.
