Early August I signed up for an upcoming class in October with Basic Coatings. I did not know they have been bought by Betco.

Class is a few hundred dollars.

I changed my mine about the class decided to go another direction.

Called Betco numerous times over the last 2 weeks to speak to someone and left general messages for someone to return my call.
Its been 3 weeks and no call back.

Just called credit card company to file a dispute.

Amazing.

Talked to other guys and was warned betco dont return calls.
Double Amazing.

Agreed. They make great products! Basic Coatings products are among the industry’s best wood & laminate floor care products. But I also agree, customer service is not their strong suit. They’re no Excellent Supply when it comes to service ;-)

Agreed on Basic Coatings products. Any finishes that withstand the pounding of bowling balls is an excellent product.

Answering the phone is equal importance to product. Return call is just as important. And no i dont want to talk to AI.

So i signed up somewhere else. Guess they prefer bigger fish¿

Unfortunately this is not just the normal for Betco but most all Customer Service is this way!!! Yet, my phone rings constantly with spam crap; all day every day. Isn’t new tech great!?…

The thing I hate about text is a simple “how much do you charge”and then scheduling an appointment can turn it 15 texts and 5 days.
I find that once you commit to texting a customer, you lose the professional edge and are more in the friend zone in their eyes. No priority from them to respond in a timely fashion or to commit. Plus, if you do not save their Information, they will contact you randomly and say, "Hey. I need my carpets cleaned" but no name.

After the first text you have their number. Again, I'm not in the same type of business. Usually, and not always the real name of the business will come up on my ID. They're getting more and more clever about that too😡

I'd hate to be in y'alls business, cause I don't even answer my phone, unless I recognize the number.
Ok, Bryce I'll explain, since I don't do residential, I don't answer Mr or Mrs Phiff's calls even if they try to find me. Even if they
ask me at church or elsewhere now, the answer is NO.

I answer most calls. Makes a huge difference to those looking to spend with you for services. Seperate yourself from the pack.

The calls i cant identify, marketing nuisance, listen for the one second bloop tone right before they speak. I hang up.

The nuisance charities looking to pick your wallet, the moment they greet you as if they care about you and mention the charity name, i hang.

In No way do i allow nuisance calls to raise my temperature, change the mood. Its just a phone call, simply hang up and go about your day.

The bull dog marketers that use different numbers, i sometimes speak with them and tell them “i just got out of jail from 10 year sentence for throwing a marketing person out the second floor window.” They usually hang or tell me thats not a nice thing to say. Click good bye. A little fun if im in fun mood.

Btw….left message with contact person listed for the class. No reply as of yet

Do yourself a favor, when purchasing anything of value, never use debit card, use credit card that backs you up if you have a legit dispute. Process may take long but worth the peace of mind.

When traveling, never ever pay by check or debit card. Heres why…

**When a travel supplier, like an airline or a cruise line, accepts a credit card payment, their merchant processor may require holdbacks. These are funds that the credit card company holds onto based on the financial risk of that travel provider. For example, a portion of the money you pay for airline ticket is held by the bank that processes their credit cards, not the airline.

**If that airline were to shut down completely, there would be money held by the bank for people who paid by credit card. When you file a claim with your credit card company, you can get your money back for a service you didn’t receive. This is the protection you have with credit cards, and it’s why tour operators who are struggling financially will often push for direct payments.

Fyi.
