I like the Nautilus and this one Versaclean. Form factor is better with this one....getting it up and down stairs and in and out of the van. Both are available in heated models and various psi. Both available in 1200 psi if you wanted to clean tile.

I was I chump when I fell for the Steamin Demon....I was grateful when I found a chump to buy mine... I almost fell for the rotovac version, then I realized it too was basically the same principle.
I love my Mytee portables. --- but we do "jump through hoops" to use the TM instead.-- we charge $100 to use a portable.

I have the EDIC great for cleaning but not easy to move okay on flat surface, but the low profile and handle make it very hard to pull back and move due to the weight distribution of the motor and vacs. .I'm 5-10 and the low reach for the handle is the problem But once it's working it's a great cleaning unit. jz.

I would hate to do residential or occupied with a steamin demon.....But in all honestly, with vacants, its really hard to beat. It fairly quick to set up, and its fairly quick to operate. Pair this with a crb, or even a small oreck orbitor, and there's not much you cant do.......But yes, you will run out of hot water fairly quick. I still prefer the tm over the demon, but I wont hesitate to grab for it in areas where its a pita to drag hoses.

Perhaps owning both would be the best option.....

I consider a SD to be a niche tool and not versatile enough to be relied upon as a primary piece of equipment on a daily basis, and only as a supplement to a good porty.

I personally never used one, but can see how it could be effectively used on some smaller sized empty units.

Besides not being able to do stairs, upholstery, closets, tight spaces, along walls/baseboards, and surely some other things, a separate power-sprayer would be needed for proper prep to do it right.

Buy a good porty first, and before you choose one with an internal heating element, understand why heated porties are frowned upon by many due to the performance limitations a heating element places on the vacs and pump, which should be the most important considerations when choosing a porty.

Oh.......and ignore Chavez when discussing porties.

Haters b hatin'.............:icon_razz:

Take a garden hose and wash your driveway. Next take a pressure washer and wash the driveway. Which gets the driveway cleaner? That settles that.

Scrub it first then the hose.

Power washing should just be rinse anyway. Too many idiots do damage powerwashing.
