She insisted on using a laquer spray coat from home depot a can that she swears it did wonders for her slate tiles in the show...(it does not look good).. she says the when wet, the etching gone.

I told her that it is better to polish it instead. If she wants super glossy, that it can be achieved with polishing method and sealed with appropriate sealer.... I doubt i get the account when i quoted her the price when she feels she can fix the problem for 30$ spray laquer from Home Depot... Whatever..

First strip the topical off of it.

400, 800, Polish should be good enough.

Diamond Impregnated Pads and your 175 should be good enough

test...test....test your stripper. getting that off may be a pia? May try since she wants lacquer sand pass failing sealer with sand paper recoat. Working around that wood with stripper may be a problem. With untrained dog polishing is out and without flatting you wont be able to remove all the failing sealer. I would charge $6-8 a foot or run
