I did a rented house today, defiantly not a rat nasty but kinda dirty. (I thought I was past the streaking faze but I guess not.)
It streaked pretty bad, I went back over and it came out, I just don't get why it would streak.

What actually is the cause of streaking? I've heard different things.

Thanks..

Streaking?

Like you left lines in the carpet?

Or you ran around naked?

Using a wand?
What psi were you running at?
Plugged jet?
Lips on your wand clear? or closing together at the middle?

That's odd.

I would run it at higher psi, but I don't see where that would cause 'streaking. Maybe it's just the way you're using the RV that's leaving a pattern in the carpet?

It doesn't usually do that, but I am using a detergent that I am not used to. It hasn't done it up until now, but I think I'll go back to pro-chem.

"lines in the carpet" like clean streaks?
Like jet pile distortion streaks?

and if rotovac, wouldn't they be "circle" streaks?

did you groom the carpet after cleaning??

I would think it would be circle streaks, but they aren't. strait dirty lines.
I groomed it and they didn't come up, so I went back over it the other direction and they came up good.
I just want to know what usually causes streaking.

Did you overlap your cleaning passes?
Because it misses a spot in the middle.

It sounds like you may not have overlapped enough or you might have a clog in one of your vac heads. Have you cleaned your heads out recently?

No, I've had the rotovac a while and was aware of the overlapping. I overlap quiet a bit.
One of the heads may be, or was clogged, I didn't check that, I'll look at it in the morning.
Thanks guys.

Streaking with a RV equals clean dirty lines or wet dry lines, pick your poison, you learned something today for sure.

My real question for you is how did it look the next day?
