Latex paint on concrete around pool area is pealing up due to moister. They want it stripped up so they can repaint it. I guess I’ll do a test area to see what works. I’m thinking 175 w carbine brush and striper, wet vac and the spinner with high heat. I know the spinner will take up the paint, but I fear it will get clogged up all the time. Any other ideas? PS. They can not find any floor coating that works well because of the high humidity I would be a hero if I suggested something that works but don’t want to buy their problem if I can’t make money with it.

most pool decks are painted with a acrylic water-based deck paint .or Kool Deck paint.....

once this stuff starts coming off the rest can normally be pressure washed ( with a good pressure washer)if you can get the jet at the right angle to lift it.....clean the deck real good and let it dry then repaint........Personally this is just a waste of time.......first time some one drags a chair or something across it the process will start all over again........

I know pressure washing with a Hotsy type machine would be the fastest but it is an indoor pool and that would make a hell of a mess.

If they are trying to find a way to add some color to the surround area.. why not have it tiled? Or if they are dead set on treating the concrete what about a concrete stain and sealer?

can "painted" concrete be stained, Sweendo?

Mike, what about McGivering a recovery tool to hook to the TM?
One man runs the pressure washer as the second man keeps the tool directly in front of the spray for immediate recovery of 95% of the mess

maybe????

If it was indeed a latex paint... odds are it really didn't penetrate very much at all.. You may have to etch the top surface to clean it up but I would think if someone would be successful in stripping it, it would be a possibility.

I would look into staining the concrete

If they don't want that than the only thing I would use is epoxy pool paint but that might make the surface to slick. To avoid it being to slick, just sprinkle some sand in the paint as you go.

forgive me, Gents, but Mikes priority focus now, if i understand it, isn't what comes "after" the strip.
but "how to" strip in a cost effective manner with minimal mess impact
