How do you clean suede backed curtains. :?:

This is a serious question from me.

What is the process, what solutions, what equipment.

Have not seen these curtains as yet.

The lady say's they are only grubby from kids. :(

All serious answers shall be gratefully acknowledged.

Thanks & ooroo,

Shorty we would vacuum with a drapery tool (perforate head) to get the dust out of them and clean them by hand, blotting with terry towel and OMS.

I'd be a little afraid of the backing, but as long as you don't soak the drapes it shouldn't affect the backing. A chemsponge works on the Suede.

Be sure to have good ventilation, wear rubber gloves, even a respirator if in tight quarters.

Airmover to speed dry.

Richard's suggestions should work just fine but if not or if using SOLVENTS is not on, I like using Capture powder made by Millican or some Oz equivalent.

Thanks for that.

I have two of those drapery tools, plus chem; sponges, also Capture.

Apart from the Capture, that is basically the way I was going to look at.

I am no longer a fan of solvents as such.

Hopefully, I will see these curtains today, time permitting.

Thanks,

Shorty.

PS ::: I thought the "Sow Sodder" would have chucked his two bob's worth in here. :(

Yea solvents are not the best solution to use in an occupied home.

Most of the soil is dry you could just vacuum them?

The solvent never seems to make a major difference in appearance, but you can see on your towels that you're removing soil, and oils.

Mostly people like that "dry cleaned" smell. ???
