Surface pro

I've been using a iPad with the quickbooks app, and go payment. It works well with some limitations.

Today I bought the surface pro. Install quickbooks to it. I got my card reader to process directly though qb on the surface.

Should be far less limitations for accounting in the field. Other than it is a Microsoft product.

Anyone else using the surface pro?

Not that anyone seems to be interested in the surface, imagine that........

I've been using the surface, it is working well, better than the ipad, credit card sales are even easier than with ipad.

But.....

My feeling is, I over paid for a small screened touch screen lap top.

Doing it over, I'd just buy a decent laptop, or a laptop with touch screen, or a convertible laptop.

As for the surface, the battery life is good, it is quick, clients are impressed, the local mircosoft clients like seeing me click away on their product, and it does the job.
I just think it is over priced, as is the optional keyboard, for $900ish I could have bought a pretty decent laptop.
2nd van will just have a rugged laptop. ( or Ipad for simple billing, receipts.)

The surface, be it a cool device. Well it lasted shy of the 15 day return window.
Took it back and bought a new laptop.

As a tool for business it just did not give me whT I needed.

Any tablet really works, a lot depends on what software you use to run your biz.

I felt the same way when I went to buy the ipad, went with the mac air and am very happy with it.

A lot of tablets you can't install software.
The surface pro allowed installation of things like office and quickbooks.

But really all it is, is an over priced mini lap top.

Best buy accepted it back. Costco was next stop. Touch screen laptop for 1/2 the price.

A friend of mine bought one of the touch screen laptops and loves it.
