Delamination. You’ll likely find that the face fabric is glued to the backing fabric.
Solvent, wear ... GKW ...could have caused this.
The adhesive sometimes just breaks down on its own over time.
Not sometimes, almost every time. Whenever we clean Shyte upholstery, we get bubbling on almost all cheap furniture.(whether cheaply made, or made to look expensive to the end user).
We’ve found using a lower PH, and lower heat helps to mitigate the issue.
I hate ‘bonded’ furniture/fabrics.
Issues include, they wait to call us when it’s so soiled, that one NEEDS to use a higher PH, and definitely higher heat.
And, it doesn’t like to groom properly when aggressively cleaned…
Polyester/blends, doesn’t like to let ‘go’ of oils without it.
And when one uses agitation to compensate for it, the issue still arises.
Think flocking in a headliner in a vehicle.
Catch 22….
