Like many of you, I love the Cimex, I just don't understand how they don't make it so that the edge of the pad can detail tighter to walls, etc. What year is this anyway?

Hey Richard,

Glad to hear you got it so quickly. We normally get pretty decent service with the freight carriers that we use. Yes, Shorty gets credit for turning me onto the idea of the big wheels. They really do make a big difference! I forsee that your guys might soon be asking to get them for your other machines too. We may have created a monster.

Enjoy your new machine! And thank you for your order.

It's true, it won't go all the way up to the wall. In all honesty though, the 1 inch edge nearest to the wall doesn't normally get a lot of soil. Typically, people don't walk flush up to the wall, so it mostly just gets dust along the wall. For situations where a particular edge may be soiled, a very easy way to clean along the edge of the wall is to use the Edge Brush... http://www.excellent-supply.com/Edge-Brush-Carpet-Cleaning-Accessory_p_11.html

It's a simple approach and seems to work pretty well. Spray some Releasit and brush along the edge. Voila!

I bought one of the upgrade kits so far. It worked great but I think I'll eventually buy another couple of new machines with the big wheels and that should solve the big wheel issue. :winky:

The new citrus scent smells pretty good too! Can't wait to use it in the field. Thanks!

You might be able to get by with slightly larger but if they are not positioned on the pad driver exactly they would rub. 8.25-8.5 I think 9 might be too big. ???

Are the guys having trouble with the 8's?

Thanks Richard, Rick & Shane for the compliments re; the Big Wheel kit.

It was born out of necessity for being a lazy person.

Those that don't have the Big Wheel kit, don't realise just how much easier it is to use the Cimex with them.

Re; the larger pads, as Rick said, who walk right up against the wall, your vacuum should remove most of the soiling, otherwise just use and edge brush.

I really can't see larger pads working when you already have thee pads working in close proximity under the machine.

You may tend to throw one slightly off tangent which may then cause more problems by catching on the other two as it rotates.

Try it and see.

Personally, I'm not willing to cut up expensive, larger diameter pads for the sake of an extra 1".

My Edge Brush is a much better ROI.

We Cimexed a 5000 footer today with the new Citrus scented DS2. Great scent, fills the whole area with a clean smell. Hell, even my van smells cleaner!
