All these years, you guys have been wasting your time at Mikey’s fest, checking blower size, heat at the wand and all that kind of nonsense.

While ignoring the carpet cleaner’s ultimate feat of strength.

So, here is the situation: You're cleaning a carpet, all of a sudden- no pressure!
Much to your distress, your quick connects are not engaged any more. And I am not talking about the ones with the shut off valve. The real, bare knuckles deal!

Me, personally, at my advanced age (ask Lee) and shortly after my tears dry, I turn the machine off and re-connect.

You, however, I am convinced over power the pressure and re- connect.

So………what kind of PSI can you over come?

Two conditions:
1) After the much anticipated and built up wrestle match that never materialized, between Crowley and Green Guy & Gurrrl. In which Greg was supposed to compete blind folded and with one hand tied- a cause of much distress amongst the natives. Therefore I am deducting 50% off whatever Greg's figure may be.
2) And.......... this is actually a personal request. Lisa 'Truck Girl', please don’t answer. I don’t think my ego can take it.

MEAT,
You or the hired help?

If you, that does not count.
Sitting all day in the office, you must concentrate and meditate all day long, enabling you a very short burst of momentary strength.

We are talking about tired, grouchy, sweaty every day hard working BDCC.

Managerial types have all the time in the world to take steroids and eat bonbons :p

I am docking you 35% off your answer.
And that is my final offer

I do it up to 550psi. That is when I'm mad and don't feel like walking downstairs out to the truck 200 feet, to turn off pump, just to go back and connect and walk right back out to the truck to turn on pump again.

Hell I can do 550

All you do is hold the trigger of the wand while you reconnect....and I the only one that knows this?

I gotta do everything around here.

DAMMIT...... :x

I've re-connected at 350 psi.
That's the psi we ran before we changed over to the Ti wand .
I was on the truck 90% of the time then

I probably wouldn't try and force it at 450 psi ...might hurt my trigger finger !gotcha!
I have a match to compete in this weekend ....

Just so that you can relate Brian......
Don't want you to feel excluded.
The adjusted question for you is: At what RPM can you re attach a bonnet while the machine is still working?

I don't understand why manufacturers sell machines without shutoff ball valves behind the QCs on the machine face, and on every section of solution hose.

I consider it a safety issue as well as a time-saving convenience issue.

If my gauge is accurate, I've done 600. Any more than that and it's the long walk. YES, Bri, everyone knows to pull the trigger when connecting or disconnecting.

500 no problem. I will take it up to 900 and see if I can still do it. This is before it's heated up right?

600.. but there are tricks.. like the speed at which you connect.. faster is better than raw power.. hydraulics will over come in the end if you give it enough time. dF/dt.. force the time component as small as can be..

But damn if I don't have a new game to play tomorow!

Yer just upset because I messed up your little game  ....you have to be "quicker" than hell to get that bonnet on at full RPMs brother.

Can probably do 500-600 psi if the wand is keyed, but it takes a toll on the QD O-rings.......all depends on how much leverage you can muster against the QD.

What, I'm not good enough for you?

With your experience, you probably have higher standards.

Seems to me that it easier to do with an unloader.. With regulators it is REAL hard to do, not sure why that is??

I always just just shut down and bled out the machine. I was taught that you had to because if you forced it you would mess up the QD's.

That and I didn't have to prove how macho I was.

It was so cool when I learned about ball valves on each section of hose. That was almost as good as the first day with a glide.

Take care,
Lisa
