I received a flyer from ZeroRez last week that caught my attention. Along with the standard minimums, restrictions, etc., ZeroRez is now charging a “$15 water treatment and disposal fee apply(ing) to all jobs.” An extra 15 bucks per job for doing what we’ve always done for free.
Clever, and easier than up selling, and yet...

Many companies have added environmental fees, fuel surcharges, etc but the customers hate being nickeled and dimed. These charges are usually in the fine print and are added at the end of the job.

When gasoline started rising.
Many Incorporated that.
An as hourly wages are rising.
Makes sense to buffer your business with this...
Dispose properly.
I was involved back when Chemlawn Carpet Cleaning .
Had a moron late for something personal.
Decide to dump with a runoff in a fishery.
So,ya go for it.apply it to a goal .
Then it makes perfect sense.

Also be upfront about it
Incorporate it into sales proposal or personal estimate...
But hide nothing, never fine print either.
Hated it never used it when I cleaned.
Handshakes,true estimates an evaluations, presentation.
Worked fer me...good luck man .you brought up a seldom but much needed discussion.
A poll would be interesting...
