Just out of curiosity, how much more would it cost to use stainless steel for the frame?

I don't think it matters. There's some ancient prochems and Dixie Steamway truck mounts out there that are just fine. And I think those don't have SS frames

I was referring to a thread where someone with a 3 month old 870 was miffed by the rust on his new machine...bad factory paint job. The galvanized fitting in the picture seems out of place with the rest of the machine so maybe it is a temporary piece. I know Sapphire Scientific makes very good equipment but when I saw the galv. fitting, I couldn't help myself with the rust comment. Fun to watch the reaction from guys who obviously really like there SS machines... rust and all... :stir:
Well your HM Tuthill 47 Blower is out dated and probably performs like a SS 370
if you are lucky. Mine spins around 3600 RPM and 15 HG your Blower can't even handle 15 hg. I think they set them @ 12

Fix the leaks?

Which ones? Oil or water? lol...

The parts leaking (water) are very difficult to fix. I'd have to take apart much more than just the area leaking. I'm sure I'd break something and be screwed. Just not ready to pay JD/disty a poop ton of money. It's not bad, just drips.

It's amazing how different the newer ones are compared to the first couple of years. Your waterbox & hx are totally different from mine. I understand the new waterbox/hx are now under pressure and completely enclosed, right?
