No it is Mike's forum.....but I most certainly have that power.

I don't care to stop you. I will, however, move all your future vid threads (and similar) to this thread

If you don't mind........I don't

If you think i dont have anything to offer people then ban me.
If your going to treat everyone equally when it comes to posting videos about whatever then sure.
If you think that i am going to go away because your being a Di@K then your wrong.

Scott - take a few minutes and go read a few dozen helpful posts by folks you consider to be outstanding - I'll wait............

Back? What's a key point you notice? Yup, they freely offer help to those that ask, don't get offended, and learn from all comments - even the negative ones. They mostly respond to questions rather than trying to create content out of thin air.

There's plenty of chances to offer help, but becoming a go-to guy for answers is a gradual process. Guess what - the folks that provide the very best advice freely admit that they continue to learn something new every single day. Are you that guy?

I can absolutely guarantee one thing - with your current way of approaching this you will never be thought of as an industry resource. Are you up to the task? Show us...

(and if you answer this post within seconds of reading it - without pondering it for a while - you failed.....)

Fred has ruined many of my threads by posting facts. Hes such a bully lol. You bastard fred.

This board would would wither away without folks like fredc and boyle marty and yes even jimmy.

Not sure how that happened.
I understand being apprehensive to very outspoken people who offer advice. This industry turns people from Newbie to Guru faster than any other. But I don't believe motives should be questioned if someone is more zealous with advice and reviews. If they were trying to monetize that advice or charge for some "sales" program I would understand running them off.
As far as posting excessively. Don't most members go through spurts of high activity? Then they mellow out. I've seen it in my short time on this board. I make my money from CCing. Not boards. So I don't have any experience in managing the personalities of an active BB. But I would say some diplomacy and private messaging might preserve some of the content generating participants here.

showing a product that works pretty well in this video, but i understand no one wants to see that, and that it doesnt help them choose a product with my helper poorly wanding in the background.

Hey Steve, I remember o6, was a tuff year for me too, I just lurked and was scared. (I'm still a little scared,)

Scott, I enjoy your product videos, keep them coming. So far you saved me money I was going to spend on trying out one product and peeked my interest on another one.

Just stop calling your self "the carpet guy" cause we all think we are "THE carpet guy" in the end there can only be one,

I suggest you call your self "A carpet guy" instead.

I have found from day one being in this forum that yes you should probably have some thick skin, otherwise you will likely go curl up in a corner and rock back and forth at times...lol. Just kidding, this is the best forum for true learning and friendship, this forum is home.
And when you have a question, ask it. You will get many answers, some may be smart ass and some will be lovey dovey, but they will likely all be good answers because the guys in here know what they are talking about. They've already learned all the lessons that some of us are still learning.
If the delivery is not to your liking and you run away, you are the one losing, no one else.
I'm on FB a lot, and it has its time and place and value. But, when I need serious and good solid advice this is my place.
For any lurkers, take the leap! Don't be afraid to ask a question no matter how stupid it may seem, because the truth is if you are serious about your business and truly want to learn you will want to hear what these guys have to say.

I really need to do more tile cleaning. Something holds me back from selling it. I have all the nice tools and chemicals on the truck. I find it difficult and time consuming, unlike carpet and upholstery cleaning. Mike gave a superb presentation on how he does it at Tom King's last fall. He made it look easy. I think I need more training or something. I will take a tile and stone class in a couple weeks at the local Interlink, a 2 day IICRC class. Maybe that will help me. Maybe I will start videoing myself tile cleaning jobs, you should too Scott.

Art, if you want to do more tile you will probably need a helper. I don't think it's something you can do much by yourself. There is just too much work to do while your truck is running. Spraying, scrubbing, blasting, wiping edges and drying. It's a lot of steps to do by yourself and I left out a couple of steps like taping off and didn't even touch on sealing.
