The TM porty?

Last year I acquired an account. This owners group has me doing jobs for them at golf course resorts, offices, condo buildings, apts, homes etc. The problem I’m running into, not everything is accessible with a TM. I’ve used VLM when, and where I can, and I’m finding the weak link in the chain has been my porty. It’s an Esteam E1200. It’s more designed for portable hard surface cleaning. It’s adjustable between 400-1000 psi. The vac on it sucks..... and not in a good way. I’m wondering what porty is available that I will be happy with. I’ve looked at the King Cobra, and it looks like a good machine. I know there are great options out there, and I don’t need heat. I already own an in-line heater. I REALLY want something that I can run 50-100 feet of 2”..... not 20’ of 1 1/2, like my current unit. Any suggestions?

The king cobra is a pos. If you want something for small jobs, 1-2 bedroom condos, etc, check out the Mytee speedster. Will have to be ordered or modified for Canada. They always seem to need a 20 amp circuit. I have an older one that I modified into a 2 cord machine. 3 cords with the heater. Currently I am using the vacuums that it came with which are 2-3stage 9.8 amp in parallel. Not bad vacuum, 2 inch plumbing. I am planning to replace them with 13.5 amp vac motors, which should give me good vacuum up to 75 feet of 2 inch hose. The current pump is a Pumptec 200 psi, which is barely ok. I am planning to upgrade that to a 500 psi 1/2 HP pump. I think I can get to run on on 2-15 amp circuits based on my custom built portable. Real time amperage on my vacuums when both are running is 12 amps. Amperage on pump is 2.74. I use my big machine on large commercial jobs and larger suites. The speedster gets called out on smaller jobs. Very easy to load in the van. Large rear wheels and new machines have locking casters which comes in handy when unloading on a slope. John L, you know where to send my commission cheque.

I'm guessing he doesn't want to modify but get one that's already there.

They all make several models, each a little different. With a 2 cord portable, you only have so much power to work with with, so what works best for one person's needs won't work best for another. For some people having the most vacuum is priority. Others want higher psi to run a spinner... So it's impossible for me to say what is best for someone else. They are all just plastic containers with parts attached, so pick whatever suits your needs and is the best price or whatever you can get locally.

Jeff;

You should contact The MAGIC WAND Company. They have 3 locations in the US (Reno, NV; Chicago, Ill.; New Jersey) and they offer many systems including the electric ETM's. See what they suggest.

Is the Jaguar 8.4 available with 15 amp cords Ed? It also says 800 psi adjustable, 800 down to what psi? I need a machine that I can use in my shop for rugs, take out on jobs and do everthing from hard surface, to upholstery. So, 150-200 up to 800....

800 psi is the max capacity of the pump. You cannot get 800 psi with 2 proper 3 stage vac motors on 2 15- amp circuits.

Look for the best vacuums. The Nautilus Xtreme and the Cross America have the 8.4" high efficiency vacuum motors which are the best available.

Here is a link to a Nautilus - https://interlinksupply.com/index.php?item_num=MXE-500M

There are a few versions; different PSI, with or without auto-fill and auto pump out; packages with wand and hoses or just the machine and so forth.

Besides the power, the machine has to be able to be loaded in and out of your van and possibly up a few stairs accessing the building where you intend to use it. Since you normally use a TM, most buildings will have an elevator where you need a portable but some still have stairs at the entry, others may have stairs at elevation changes in the hallway.
