but some times she'd like my opinion..
Don't ever believe that. They are just patronizing you. They aren't even listening, they are already making up their minds before you even finish speaking.

Save them the distraction and just say "Honey, you would know better than I and I trust your decision".

Don't worry you don't have to feel like a sell out, she didn't listen to that response either. 😂

I for one am glad I learned the value of ear plugs 40 years ago .

maybe you should see a real ear specialist and have one tailor made for your specifics instead of going to walmart for a glorified hi-tech Walkers Game Ear...

I’ve worn these for 25 years…
I like my high end audio to much to lose my hearing.

Hearing loss is cumulative, once it’s gone, it’s gone…. 0FB2CCBA-1D5D-479E-8B6F-130077BE74D1.png

I like muffs in cool weather.
Silicone flange type on a string for quick in and out use (in while shooting, out while pasting targets or loading mags, etc)
and these are my current favorite for riding and tasks when too hot for muffs

Mike and the other cave men should get some NOW to prolong what's left of what they have

Do they play music? 😉

I've been turning my music down for the last year. I like it loud but I know too many losing their hearing, so I'm preserving what I got.

may try the new version of plugfones once they come out since they are wireless and don't stick straight out.......may be better than plugs/helmet speakers

Host machines with bad gears has done me in (loud music and being hereditary hasnt helped either) I wear hearing aids at night. Still have enough hearing capability to hear the customer though. But maybe Im just good at reading lips....

I tried the behind the ear kind but prefer the inside the ear, very small one. Dont have a picture of it but can post one

Paula is begging me to get hearing aides....

surely some of you old farts wear them...

Thoughts?

I'm sorry you're going through this Mike.

Lee has been experiencing hearing loss (no shame pushing 90 next month).

His solution:

"My not hearing you is your problem to solve, not mine. You can talk louder"

I'm not thinking Paula would appreciate that approach though.
