Things I've Noticed......

Since upgrading to 2.5 from the standard 2" for the Thermalwave Vortec, a few things I've noticed.
1) Quicker dry times. When kneeling to block/tab, knees are much if not all dry.
2) Even with a Greenglide (slotted, of course), it's a lot harder to push/pull the wand.
3) I've been changing out the filter pantyhose (yeah, go head and laugh, but they work) 3-4-5 times as much as with the 2" system. I'm going to buy some Saiger-approved paint can filters, which will be more economical. Hell, I might even pick up a 2.5" Devastator.
4) TM runs much cooler, even in this freakin' heat.

OK....all you short timer guys with a few years under their belt cleaning, (I've been at it for 38 years), Let loose with the critiques!

I've been thinking about doing this. I would go 2×2 to filter just enough to put filter on the ground (8ft maybe) then 50' of 2.5.
Any opinions on this with a boxxer 421? Would it make a difference? I'm thinking at least for longer hose runs.

Joel.......what's your blower size? You gotta ask the experts here. I have a Sutorbuilt 5MP blower, so it's a big sucker. On mine, it does make a big difference.

Yes and no.

It does if you can get in to go in the slot but you're much much better vacuuming prior to cleaning. It will save you the hassle repeatedly going over a piece of debris.

I have been a vacuum snob ever since going glided years ago, and I have never used a slot glide. So, I wondered about that.

With carpet taking up less and less floor space in homes, people down here seem to be unwilling to pay $135 (my minimum) for two or three rooms. Expecially when you consider that in most situations the price goes up once we get there due to stains, odors or oversized rooms. If I could NOT have to vacuum, we might be able to be a bit more price flexible and still be profitable.

But then, I'd be lowering my standards and probably would hate myself in the morning.

Slot glide does pick up some hair not much. The round holed none. The slot glide get plugged if you don't clean it . I changed my slot to larger openings for bad jobs. My old ladies say they vacuumed and don't want to pay for the extra service. At my old age I have to use a glide for cleaning and they work great. jz.

even a 45 will benefit with 2.5... But Do it right... Some 2inch in-line filter are actually about 1.75inch ID-- avoid this filter-- get a real 2 inch ID inline filters. then go to 2inch to 2.5 inch Y connector..

There is no reason for any intelligent person to use anything other than a Devastator filter.

Even I have that one figured out.

Been running 2.5 hose on both trucks for over 5 years now after talking to Jeff Lydon

Own 3 Greenhorn wands , 2.5 inch hose and his 2.5 aluminum connectors

I miss talking to him when he was in this industry, always was working on something to improve our cleaning experience
