Mike, I give you credit for how well you navigate our discussions of faith, even though we are miles apart on the subject.

This is where an actual conversation about a sensitive (which also means a deeply important) subject is better than a bulletin board exchange or text.

It gives me great joy to know that you're wrong about something.

I took a vacation for a while when the board was dominated by a few that annoyed me and who didn't, in my view, bring anything good

Mike himself?

He can express things that are hurtful, and at times those things have disappointed me. But I've got feet of clay myself, and have needed forgiven for my own words and acts in my lifetime.

An 18 year friendship (a word I don't use loosely) has been more than worth that level of indulgence and patience on my part.

I can only hope my friends and family will give me the same latitude when I fall short, as I too often do.

Hey....I'm still friends with Fred Boyle and Terje Brevik!

I noticed.

EVERYBODY quits, eventually.

Or runs out of energy..

Whether you're 80yo or 4yo, you still have the same 24 hours.. What you lack is energy..

It's funny how things change the older I get, and my outlook on things once important is no longer..

Be kind, stay humble..

FredC and I had our differences, but the man was still helpful in finding errors, searching parts and diagnosing things.. All the best to him! 🍻 Where one chapter closes and another opens..

I do things that disappoint me.

3.0 is learning not to repeat those things.

That second line sounds like I'm going through puppy training or, like my robo- vac, I've been programmed to not make the same mistake twice

I ask AI " what happens when one becomes born again, it's unpoetic answer was nearly perfect...

When someone becomes born again, they experience a spiritual rebirth, or a change of heart, that leads to a new relationship with God:

  • Repentance: They acknowledge their sins, feel sorrow for them, and forsake them.

  • Conversion: They accept Jesus Christ as their savior and turn to him for salvation.

  • New relationship with God: They become part of God's family and are saved from hell. They develop a love for God and a desire to live in accordance with his will.

    • New life: They experience a change in their inward and outward selves, and their life's root and principle become new. They live to God, rather than to themselves.
The process of becoming born again can include: Exercising faith in Christ, Repenting of sins, and Being baptized by immersion.

After becoming born again, God expects people to work toward becoming like his son, Jesus. This process of sanctification is ongoing and requires continual effort.

I then asked, what's it like to have the holy spirit, to which AI responded;

According to Christian belief, experiencing the Holy Spirit is often described as a feeling of deep inner peace, warmth, love, and a sense of overwhelming joy, sometimes accompanied by a tingling sensation or a feeling of being enveloped by a comforting presence; however, the exact feeling can vary greatly from person to person, with some experiencing a more profound emotional connection to God while others may feel a (not so) subtle sense of guidance or understanding.

As usual, AI nailed it.

Happy HolyDays Mikey Boarders, may the Lord be with you!
