I would like to see, how a tufted rug will be looking when they unroll it and the dissolved secondary backing is all over the rug..

I just did a tufted rug with my homemade rug sucker and had no problem. This rug was saturated with urine so I made up a strong urinse solution in a 5 gal bucket. Poured it over the rug, let it sit for 1/2 hour and rolled it around the Rons rug extractor and hooked up the tm. Let it run for 10 min. You could see the rug sucking into the unit. When I disconnected the rug was just damp. Oh yeah, I rinsed it with a hose when it was extracting and you could the water just passing thru it. I wrapped it up for the customer today and no browning and no odor. If my homemade piece of junk works so well, you can imagine what a professional one will do. Who knows, maybe mine works better.

It's not about the tool... It's about the rug. You get away with it on some good ones. And then you'll get one where the glue washes out - literally -and dry in a powdery brittle mess. I've done that a few times....Unfortunately. If I can, I will refuse a rug like that. I don't like dealing with them.

I had one like that a while ago. Little 5x7 that the customer ha over paid $900.00 for. It was delaminating and buckled and when I cleaned it all the dissolved glue and backing material wicked up badly. I used some browning treatment and neutral cleaner with a brushpro remedy it with about a 90 percent improvement. I am thinking with the rug sucker, you could probably wash most of the dissolved product away. And you could always do an acid rinse last step. Might not be the solution for everything but I have had some good success so far.

The video gives the impression that this could be done in the customers driveway...

lordy.
Actually I recal seeing it being advertised as such on another group when it came out.
Saying it's perfect for those who don't have room for a rug pit etc...

I made my own knock-off version-- I wasn't pleased with how it worked-- SO today when I got the email to order the real one-- I jumped and paid about $450 to get the real one-- Just in case my design missed something... hope it work better then my knock off one!?

I'm sure it will. I am thinking of ordering one as well. I am sure that the real one will work better. I made mine to see if the principle was sound and it is. I am looking at constructing a temporary wash pit and that will be my primary means of extraction as I do a small volume of rugs right now. Mine doesn't have all the features of theirs such as the clearview tube etc but it does work. It would be nice if it came with adjustable sleeves to block off extra holes for smaller rugs. I use plastic bagging material.

Got my Authentic rug sucker today..
Amazing!
It works So much better then my knock-off version.. I think the rug is dryer then a centrifuge would produce. I'm already thinking of buying another.

I assume you had it hooked up to the TM? People get varying results with the porty or TM usage... I assume a TM should work faster....

So how much different was it from the one you made? Sounds like it was worth the money.

Much better and worth the extra money.
Later when I get more rugs in I will shoot a video and use a moisture meter to measure the water content before an after. I was already in my pajamas when I decided to play with the rug sucker.:eekk:
We used 6ft of the sucker on an 8X10 rug and the outer layer was really dry-- we used a mytee M5 (2-3 stage parallel vacuums.)

less then 5 minutes with the ETM. Wool shag was dry next morning after being in luke warm 85 degree drying room.
can you give us a little feed back on your ETM. What is your power source an what type of plugs are you using? Have you tried on any jobs yet? Sorry, my thumbs are all fingers today.

I had a 208 outlet 50amp (3 prong dryer outlet) installed.
I've only used it for in plant cleanings. The ETM is too big/complex to set up for most porty jobs--we perfer to reg Portis for most of the small jobs we get.
Using the "Hunter boxes" was a pain. I'll only use The ETM on jobs over 3000sq ft. Where a TM won't work.

The Rug Sucker is now available from Interlink Supply. $395. We had several folks checking it out during the Experience show in Atlanta last month. Several took advantage of our show special.

I do not suggest cleaning rugs in the client's drivewat no matter what tool you use.

When used with a truckmount, we found 8 - 10 minutes of suction was good for most rugs. Larger rugs and thicker rugs require more time. But pretty soon they were as dry as if they spent time in a $40,000 centrifuge.

Dried OK with a portable also, if you had a short hose run of 15' - 25'. Really nice when using the NAutilus with the 8.4" vacuums.

sounds like a nice inplant machine. wont't annoy your neighbors as much as a tm roaring outside.
