This is the 1st time I heard of a Harmonic BalancerBalancer

A harmonic balancer is a crankcase pulley that turns the altinator pulley.
The above pulley is the old one. It should be one piece like the one below it.
I shutter to think what the damage would have been to the engine or human beings If the pulley fell off while spinning 3200rpms?

And it better do more then just be a pulley-- for the price I paid for it-- $188 just for the part!

I had a small-block Chevy years ago that had an oil leak. The rubber part of the harmonic balancer was always drenched in oil. It caused the rubber to swell up and ooze out, with a similar outcome. I did catch it before complete separation, though....
