I'm all for saving a buck when I can.... But having to watch my pops take apart the old Century 400 portables and SeaHawk vacuums back in the day, you're better off just buying a new motor.... It's not worth my time trying to fk with a cheap vac motor..... As cheap as the motors are now, it' just easier to replace...
A lesson I hope your guys learned... The problem I get with my portables is the steam going through the machine from dual electric heaters and/or #2 Little Giant heater... You can see the dampness when on tile/hard floors.... I dump every room and know how much I can clean before having to dump.... Better safe than sorry....
