Once, in a momentary lapse of reason and when dinosaurs still roamed the earth, I tried to do a quick grout restoration job with toilet bowl cleaner. The fumes drove me out of the house.

back when i did home shows, met a couple where the wife found the husband pased out after using Muratic acid to clean grout

yeah I wouldnt use it like he does, but his workmanship is impressive
there are a few tricks he's shown me to its use, but I'm happy to call a grout line permanently stained and walk away

Me too, only I had a tiny cut on that finger. It hurt like hell, so of course I stuck my finger in my mouth.
I NEVER did that again though it makes a nice teaching moment!!
