Kicking myself cause they said we came in under what they had anticipated and budgeted. We don't hear that often.

Don't kick yourself too hard, Meg.

One of the things that I've come to respect about what you and John present is that your price is based on what is needed in your marketplace to provide the level of service your customers expect, the income your employees need, and the rewards your family deserves.

Once you know that is the case, and you have a formula that determines your prices based on that, then whether someone acts like the retailer did about your 175.00 minimum charge that he thought was too much or this church that thought you charged too little...you can be equally at peace with either outcome.

Thank you, Jim. We priced it the way we needed to for us and we are good with that. Hopefully we can get the carpet too. From the photos (especially the pew one) it looks like they need it.

They are about an hour from us and found us online. We did the whole deal through email and they know that there could be changes once we get out to the site.

I doubt it will be much if anything if the measurements they provided for the pews were accurate and with the pics they sent us. The chairs were easy to price since we've done tons like them before. It's a very common chair.

Have the pastor sell $100 carpet cleaning certificates to the church goers to reduce his cleaning bill by $10 for every certificate sold.

When we sent the estimate, we told them we would donate 10% of the job back to the church.

The church is about an hour from us, so we aren't too motivated to try to get work from the congregation. Takes us out of our service area....

But we may be able to set up a day or two to work in that area if enough of the congregation wants to use us and then it would be worth it.

We started working for a large group of church's about 30 years ago. The preist's kept referring us to their other parishes further away, they would call and ask us to travel to make estimates which I will not do. I ask them to measure the areas to be cleaned, but they would not do. I finally told them they would need to get someone else to clean for them, they quit asking for a price and told me just to come and do it, everybody's happy;)

Just stunned that somebody needed to expose him. Do you mean people really believed that crap. Maybe I can go see him and he will smack me down and say "get up, you're healed, you're no longer a carpet cleaner.

What is funny is that appears to be a large Church. There are probably a couple of guys in the congregation that clean carpets---
