Re: To all those who do animal resuce work- this one's for u
Made me cry.
As I sit here with 11 dogs at my feet, all but one were rescues and three rescue cats wandering around the house, we even have two rescue snakes. Of my rescues 6 are geriatric, two are incontinent, one has cancer, one missing and eye, two are deaf, two are blind. One has Addison's disease and one little fellow has inflammatory bowel disease....which means he has diarrhea all the time.
Literally hundreds have ridden in my little sports car, some to foster homes and on to wonderful lives, some to the vet for me to hold them in my arms as they are mercifully put to sleep when they are beyond our help and hurting...
I rode this little girl in my car from the shelter and held her in my arms, petted her and gave her love. I named her Hope.
She went on to make a full recovery, grew back all of her hair and is now a loved member of her adoptive family.
This old man pulled from a horrible shelter died in my arms:
So many faces, so many stories.....
Take care,
Lisa
