We use the CRB for most residential, and the 175 for all commercial(either the brush, or the 3m red pad depending on the soiling).. I do see how the red pad would rock it out on some residential berber..

I did not misperceive the carpet looking frizzy on that particular job, them post bonneting is the only explanation I could see causing it. But their is a high probability considering his help at the time that the carpet or bonnet was too dry. Like I said in twenty years I have never used a pad for agitating in the prespray and I have cleaned some nasties. So what is the supposed advantage of the padded 175, less water?, less rinsing? less time? What am I having to do extra to supposedly compensate for not using a pad?

I was noting the ignorance of your Russian admirer.

There are pads that are absorbent, unlike the red scrub pads, which may allow them to be used for quick touch-ups and "appearance maintenance" with a good encap product, and without having to immediately rinse/flush the area with HWE.

You familiar with VLM methods?

I have a ten inch crb I keep in the van for residential and a 15 inch I load up for commercial. Haven't used my 175 since I got the ten inch.

I'll be using a red pad on Wed. Nasty cgd with oily footprints all over. Using volatile solvent as a spotter, code Red prespray boosted with Prochem citrus pro, scrubbed with 175 and red pad, flushed with Procyon plus powder through the TM. I'll see if I can some pics this time.
Here are some pics of that job.

I am taking this one and having a cad design done. Hoping to build it this winter. I may try a pair of 8.4's in parallel through my manifold. Have to redesign the waste tank baffles to handle the air flow, otherwise we'll have a foaming problem. The one in the pic was made of 1/8 inch aluminum. Mine will be 3/8 marine aluminum.

I can probably do that. Have to make the tanks a little slimmer and taller. As it is now the width is 24 inches. I need to devise a folding handle to give more leverage to go up stairs.

I've read about VLM methods, and management has made some noises about going in this direction since we have long, 83" wide hallways to maintain, but so far it'll all talk and no action. :(
