cleaning the house down the street.

The guy who took himself out. :eekk:

I put it on AFTER the IICRC shareholder's meeting so I have something to look forward to....

Gunshot?

I'm hoping all items that were contaminated with blood have been disposed of before you get there.

If you're getting into anything gross, give me a call. When we had a cleaning company, I did most of our trauma work, even after I left to run the supply business.

Nothing gross, he was polite about it..

I'm glad of that, for all involved.

The only "good" thing about such a tragedy.

I think I remember that you knew the guy; the hardest thing about the work is if there is anything of his there that spoke to who he was.

I did a suicide by gunshot to the head once; they guy was recently divorced and feeling lost I guess. It wasn't picking skull fragments out of the wall with pliers, or washing blood off of everything...it was seeing his cowboy boots, his toothbrush and the pictures of his kids that got to me.

Had I known the guy it would have been even worse.

One of my neighbors at my old shop shot hisself because his sister had cancer and he didn’t want it. I would say he was nuts, but he had a successful furniture store. He rented next to me for his Damons. Antique cars and hot rods. It broke my heart and was the damnedest thing!!!

One and only suicide I ever did was a double barrel to the gut. Bones and meat everywhere.
Just kept telling myself this is a butcher shop. Raised on a farm so butchering meat was the norm.
Didn't lose it until we had to scrape up the 2' pool of blood that had scummed over like pudding does.
Long long time ago but I do remember 1st. thing turning all the pictures down.

I had a welfare check call years ago… guy hadn’t been heard from.

The garage door was open just enough for me to fit under.

The garage was completely dark, when I turned my flashlight on, the dude’s face was maybe 10 inches from mine as he was hanging.

when we did water/fire damage we fortunately did not get a suicide call. But I do remember going to a Service Team of Professionals Franchise meeting (Mack Clark) where he took us to a fancy steak place (where else would you go in Kansas City) and the topic came up and everyone told a good story. After about 30 minutes we all looked around and found we cleared out the place.

A long long time ago we had a guy bring in a herculon sofa. His sister was killed by her boyfriend and then the boyfriend committed suicide on the sofa. He wanted us to get the big blood stain out of the back and to clean off the tear gas. It had been a standoff for a while and the police finally tear gassed the place and broke in to find the 2 bodies.

If memory serves me correctly, we got more than it cost to replace it with new.

Why would the brother even want the sofa after that?!!

Being in this business we see the ugly underbelly of what passes for humanity so much that I cease to be shocked much
