Transfer pump

when the stock Shurflo type transfer pump on my new fresh tank burns up (I hear they do), is there a brand/model that lasts a long time?

Jim martin had a cool set up with a pump from harbor freight.

Not near it right now but...after going through a pump every two years we switched. Now use a 12 v. pump from Northern tool that is rated continous duty. It is working great and does not overheat.

If you have a water box you can use a harwil switch. The pump runs open and the water level controls it. The pump will never cycle and last forever.

The float is just a switch. Use it to break the hot. The advantage to the set up is the water just flows free and the pump won't cycle. I used the one with a 6" swing. Any pump will work, no special bypass or demand needed. Just buy the gals you want to pump.
