Lady calls and had a flood, everything is dry.

She got a contractor to come in a quote her for new floors, but she wants to try and save money.

The floor needs repairs and repairs and has scratches that are deeper then the topical.

I believe she wants it clean and honed and polished about 600 sq ft. It would need traverfill in some areas.

Not sure about all the chips and cracks.

I'd love to have this job. Seariously. Lots of money to be made there. If it's peeling off with your fingernail...some heavy alkaline solution and a turbo and brushring might be enough to get it off. You might have to do it twice. Then see what the stone looks like under there. Then hone and polish. Ypu'll be doing even better if you can figure out how much they quoted for replacement.

If you say so.

Strip
Hone
Clean

Get to work $4.00 ft

so still kinda new to the whole travertine thing..I have done a few floors and they have come out really nice...

so..couldnt he just use something like a 220 dot pad and brings it all down..
Then use the H-pad followed by M-pads for whatever level of shine that they want..

and the $4.00..is that for the whole job....

I know you guys can get more per sqft than I can..but I charge .75 per level..and that's expensive here...

so the 220 dot pad ...@ .75
the H-pad.. @ .75
then pending on the shine that they want..I could use 1 to 3 M-pad..so let's say they want the one in between...
so an M-1..@.75
and a M-2 @ .75

so that is $450.00 per level..so the entire job for we would be $1800.00

and I would probably add another 100 bucks or so to fill the holes and cracks..depending on how much there was....

???????????????..............

The 220 is not a stripping pad, doing so would ruin it, loading it up with dry polymer. The inlays are going to ruin DIP pads too I'm betting unless gone around and done by hand. No thanks.

I would just chemically "hone" it by using a strong 02 based cleaner

You're want a lot more Tha $100 to fill all those hole and damage too.
Lots of knee time

I'm wondering how SGA and unsanded would work as a Travertine fill. The stuff is so easy to work with....

If it’s on concrete slab, and it’s a mud set, no problems other than possibly moisture being tapped under the coating causing possible spalling.

Travertine is born in water

Make sure the deeper scratches aren’t stunned.

Standard job. Strip- turbo(for the grout), resin hone, finish as customer goals

Not a fan of DIPs for cutting . It encourages and enhances orange peel and dishes soft spots, especially on lower cuts. And any shine derived from DIP only lacks durability of a resin cut. It is a choice however

1. Strip/extract
2. Very strong alkaline, truckmount the shit out of it to clean the holes and pits
3. Fill and detail holes
4. 220-400 resin
5. Bonastre Yellow DIP with extra weight on the machine. This is bump up the finish and help get rid of picture framing
6. Now you can either jump right to powder polish for a nice presentable finish, or go 800-1800 resins, then powder polish for the best possible finish.
7. Rinse with Easy Stone Care Shimmer sealer/brightener
