Trying to find more info. on the very popular Greenie wand

with the big Genesis blower you'll love the 2inch barrel 14 inch Greenhorn wand.

I've had it for over six months , no drips check valves are working great

The jets are lower to the carpet because Greenie puts extenders in front of the jets and the manifolded is angled towards the glide to shear the dirt as opposed to blasting the face fiber. This prevents any pile distortion and blasting the dirt to the base of the fiber.

When I compare my Greenhorn to my Butler wands they are just toys... the Greenhorn is a real man's wand

Is the trigger on that Castex really limited to 450 psi?

I really wanted to try one @ Jon Don but it never happened.

The REAl problem is my age. Arthritis has set in my hands and shoulders and so the weight of the wand causes me problems. Actually, I think it's more the wider hand grip more than the actual weight that causes me problems.

No, I'm not just using the Castex wand. I bought a 1.5 inch Greenie wand and use it on the appropriate occasions. I have personal preferences for each wand in certain circumstances.

I agree with Jimmy that the Castex wand does not need a glide ... at least not on most carpets. And, the narrow slot gives me glided wand drying times. But, unlike my idol, I find an occasional style that it just won't glide on.

I'm not sure about the psi limitations on the Castex. When I went back to the smaller wand, I cut my cleaning psi down from 600 to 350.

Todd, to answer your original question. The Greenhorn wand is hands down the best wand I have ever used. I do not pretend to have tried every wand in existence, but I have tried and own more than I care to list.

To begin with the 2" pipe is a dramatic improvement to the 1.5" (IMO).
Second the extensions place the jets closer to the carpet which reduce the additional humidity typically created during cleaning, along with reducing associated heat lose.
Next the Feather touch valve...self explanatory.
The parflex solution feed is a nice touch as well. Does not burn if contact is made as with the metal solution feeds.
The low profile design of the wand allows access under items that would previously have had to be moved and replaced.

Finally may favorite feature is the angle and offset of the manifold. They allow the solution to flow through the fiber with out blasting the backing of the carpet in a way you simply must experience to appreciate. It will give you dry times that rival a rotary drimaster and a flush ability of a fire hose.

Rex is right on the money! Do yourself a favor and order it! It is the single best thing I have purchased since going to a truckmount. Cleans like nothing else and will leave the carpet dry to the touch. Amazing wand!

Greenhorn Wand

Just received 2 of 14" wands.

First impression out of box,excellent highly polished finish.

As a mfg. looked for quality of welds,alignment,use of self locking nylok nuts & SS lock washers,

Weight indicates use of heavier metal.

With the Teflon Glide you will never wear out this wand.

If handling the 2" tube is a problem,Jeff could install a PW valve on top of tube if he wanted.

Current users indicate exellent performance.

I have the car wash valve style from larry cobb and the standard under the tube style valve from greenie. Larry had me convinced that the 2" tube made it to hard to grab the wand and operate the vave due to the diameter when I bought it. I actually like the feather touch valve under the tube much better, but I have extremely large hands. Either way this wand is probably one of the best investments you can make .
