disappointed sums it up. I ran it side by side to my sx-12 and it was not even close to leaving the tile as dry. Cleans the same as far as I could tell. The handle is much heavier , enough to notice right away. I thought I would like the hose swivel but it causes the hose to swing forward and get in the way. The swivel will scratch a wall in tight quarters. You can't use you hand as a buffer because it's to hot. As long as I keep the holes clear on my sx-12 it leaves the tile much drier. When you pick up the turbo it leaves a huge chunk of water. On the sx-12 , slide it forward and back and its gone, doesn't work on the turbo. I did drill my sx vacuum holes out when I first got it so maybe that's the difference. I'll start by blocking off the patented vacuum relief and see if that helps. Not the first tool I've had to fix. with all the glowing reviews I'm shocked. You guys suck, unlike the turbo.

Yeah, I've seen all those problems with mine, but didn't know I should be pissed about them.

Thanks for setting me straight.

I'm sending Jim Martin hate mail right now!

yep hot fitting at the swivel and yep ya gotta wipe up a puddle. I've lost track how many years I've had mine and haven't done one repair. Pluck the debris from the vac holes and throw in back in the truck.

I totally disagree.
Kinda surprised actually.
The sx felt flimsy to me.The turbo is bullet proof. I've never scratched a wall with the swivel. The sx leaves a puddle as well if you pull it straight up. Maybe not modified like you have. But at least in stock form it did for me. I always end up hungry hungry hippo'ing the last little bit.
I guess that's why you try a tool out before you buy. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Wow...everything you just mentioned is what I hate about the SX 12! Lol.....that thing frustrates the hell out of me.
I have heard nothing but good about the turbo hybrid.

The sx12 dries well but is a pain to push it locks down. It's leaves tile wetter with brush only and is much easier to use.

I got the turbo also I'm might like it more is it just had the brush ring. I use a ton of fans so leaving it wetter is fine

So the hybrid does not have a brush ring? That is a must have imo.....
I think I need to check the ring on my SX and make sure it is perfectly seated, because I am extremely unimpressed with its lack of fast extraction.
I used my new Westpac hard surface wand last night on my commercial account and it did a much better job than the SX, but still need to have a good spinner for those really bad jobs.

The turbo should come with both. Takes about 3 minutes to switch them out.

You can change out the Teflon (?) ring with the brush ring in a few minutes.

My Turbo came with both. We only use the brush ring.

the puddle can be dealt with with a little tilting..
On the sx but it didn't work for me on the turbo.
I'm not planning on scratching any walls either but Im so used to my hand covering the end that I'll have to wear a glove for a while.

My Sx has a vacuum relief. Just open it when needed. I can push it on concrete but I can't push the turbo. Not without opening the slide air release.

The reason I drilled out the holes was to send more air to the tile for a bigger blower, worked fine.

Friday I have a large commercial job which has tile, I'm going to cap the vacuum relief and see how it works.

I like our Turbo Hybrid 12" but we've used our 15" once--usually it's just too big. Anyone want to trade a like-new 15" for a like=new 12"?
