Effective June 6, 2016*, UPS is changing the measurement that determines whether the UPS Additional Handling charge will be applied to UPS® Ground services packages in the U.S.

Any package with the longest side exceeding 48 inches, instead of 60 inches, will be assessed the fee.** The Additional Handling fee of $10.50 remains the same. The change does not impact UPS Air or International shipments. This change is being implemented due to the additional handling required for these types of packages in the UPS network.

Blame Amazon for taking up too much space on ups trucks.

Chavez sent me phone battery back up the size of a shotgun shell.

Damn box could have fit a pair of cowboy boots..

Thanks again Rico!

I am always amazed when I order an o ring and it comes in a box that size, instead of an envelope.

The discounts UPS is giving Amazon has meant they have to raise the rates on everyone else. It will not be long and Amazon will have it's own delivery service. I don't believe they will buy UPS ---they don't want the Union overhead but who knows. Amazon has really put the squeeze on UPS.

UPS had a major price increase at the first of the year also.

It might get even uglier...

What's wrong with sending things in the mail?

The usps will only take certain sizes of items. If it is over about 4 pounds their rates are very high. For 16 ounces and under they are amazing.... I mainly sell items I can send by USPS on ebay---currently over 1400 items listed---- Their flat rate envelopes are a great deal also.

Apparently UPS is trying to help USPS and FedEx to expand their ground package business. And they're succeeding.
My son delivers for Fedex Ground. They get oversized packages that should go Fedex Freight but they don't refuse anything. He says it will say two man lift right on the box.

I keep telling him hard work builds moral character. I don't think he is falling for it. LOL
