Did this detect salts? Is this a moisture meter actually??

I have one and it works ok but I think it makes noises even if something is wet and not urine.

But if a certain chemical is sprayed on it or I don't know why but the thing won't go off but u can smell the spot is urine?

What is it? How does it work?

Jordan;

The link didn't work, but in general, moisture meters only detect current across the probes.

UV lights are the best visual indicators of urine deposits.

You can show the customer the extent of the pet problem.

Hi-power UV LED lights are strong enough to work with some ambient light.

Detects the dry salt residue left behind by urine. Sensitive enough to detect even old, dry urine hidden deep in carpet backing and padding. Emits a tone when it contacts a problem area; tone and frequency intensity vary depending on accumulation. Detects fresh and old urine problems, can also be used as a moisture detector for water restoration. NOW has an LED that compliments the tone and an ergonomic handle.90 day warranty.

Looks like a regular moisture probe to me. Essentially, two metal pins go into the carpet and it measures the resistance between the pins. Anything with any conductivity can complete the circuit.
