I've used a Certified Pile-Lifter spanning five decades and have never 'destroyed' a carpet. I also fabbed an attachement to hook-up to a TM for super-duty suction. Most who have negative opinions about this machine have never taken the time to master it.

It works. And any more than 400 and you'll be bitterly disappointed with the big clunky contraption. But you can tell all your friends that you have a crb.

It's very heavy and not really something that would get used for pre agitation. Unlike the crbs sold for just that purpose.

I think this is the closest to what you want. Host Liberator. A crb with a vacuum on top. You can either run just the brushes or turn on the vacuum while you brush...I'm kind of interested in one of these actually.

@WillS do you guys use these?

Host Liberators are to big to use in residential. We have a few of these Freestyle machines, but the vacuum isn't great on it. I'd still highly recommending vacuuming after using it.

And since this came up... Fred, these days I'm seriously coveting a nice used Cobra 5 stringer...

Anybody got one for sale?

You have a picture of that Scott?

I don't have a photo. I will see if I can get one from @regarossa.

After having used a Brush Pro with vacuum attached, I would rather have an old-fashioned pile-lifter. Simply easier to work with since there is no vac hose to move around and I think the pile lifter did better at the vacuuming. But I still love Brush Pro for other reasons.

I am still waiting for a mfg to make a CRB with a nice strong vacuum motor in it and a large bag. Imagine how thoroughly and quickly you could vacuum a house. No vacuum cleaner would even come close. You could probably charge a premium for vauuming service just by showing folks what you can get out of their carpet. Just an idea I've had for at least 6-7 years. Hopefully someone will do it.

Mike....I posted something to this effect last week. Why not have a good strong vacuum on a CRB machine and do 2 chores at once? And be able to shut down the vac if you want to pre-scrub the prespray. I'm still searching for that vacuum that was available 10+ years ago that was able to vac up ink pens, paper clips, hair pins, drywall nails. It was advertised in one or more of the trade magazines.
