Starting to look closer at VCT as a future add-on.


Came across this the other day, and wondered what if anything can be done for such a condition.


Notice lighted colored round wear mark.


Can this be fixed in any way or is it permanent?

Is the green tint only on the surface and not throughout, and once worn its fooked?

Assuming that you COMpletely stripped it.
Wet the floor with water and see if there is a major difference in appearance.
If not go ahead a finish the floor. Finish will darken everything and might make the wear area not as noticeable.

It will only darken slightly a little darker than the water.

You will notice the circle where the chair rolls around the most but it will look so much better.

It almost looked like where the guy stopped with the auto scrubber with the brush running.

could also be a spot wear an office chair with plastic castors just wore it out over time

vct does not come out perfect but we never get complaints on it.
the before and after difference normally huge.
put some wax down prob won't even see it
where a chair was- a wear spot

I run in to these almost every day, its from the office chair rolling around on the floor which eventually will damage the finish of the VCT tile and at that point there is nothing you can do but replace the floor. But if it hasn't worn the finish yet then the wax will correct the issue.
