Today we did some low moisture cleaning demos in the MikeFest demo area at the Experience show. They had loaded old pieces of carpet with motor oil and potting soil. Here we are cleaning. The results speak for themselves. On the Vario2 we were running a Microbeast bonnet with Encap-Punch and Encap-Clean DS2

Scrubbing a small section over and over all day long is bound to at least get some dirt out. : )
Totally misleading and would be too time consuming on filthy carpet. A typical scrub and HWE would be far quicker and produce better results.

Seriously? That section of carpet that I cleaned with the Vario took no more than 5 minutes. Not an unreasonable investment considering the soil load. There were plenty of spectators there watching who can corroborate how much time it took. :)

Looks good Rick.

I wish they would stop doing the silly demonstrations on totally trashed carpet. Most of us do our best trying to avoid clients that rebuild their Harley's engine on their living room carpet.

A real test will be to clean a normally soiled carpet and being able (maybe through soaking in a tub) to see what was left in it. And later (not possible in a show) to see how it re-soiled.

I ran the RX 20 over that area after Rick was done.

It made very little visble difference. Not what I expected.

But yes, VLM on that mess took at least three times as long to get the same visible results

Don't you hate that. I've done that many times with an RE and I'm always disappointed the appearance isn't improved. I know soil removal has to be vastly improved but you can't see it not even if you're looking with Ofer's eyes. :errf:

You may change your logo every Wednesday.
But lets face it.
That:

............ even if you're looking with Ofer's eyes. :errf:

Never gonna happen for you, grasshopper.

P.S. The good news?
I'm sure that somewhere, there's probably a good Kenny Cheesy song to comfort you
:winky:

2nd P.S.- Good job Rick.
So, where does the dirt go?

So, where does the dirt go?

Where does the dirt go?
It turns into money. :winky:

Seriously though, the answer is twofold...

Point 1

We were cleaning with Releasit. Releasit dries to a crystalline residue. We weren't using an Encap impostor, it is a genuine crystallizing product.

The cleaning solution contains the soil. The solution dries and the the crystallized residue contains the soil. The crystal breaks away from the fiber. And it gets pulled from the carpet through routine vacuuming. That's why it's important that we used an Encap product that truly crystallizes.

Point 2

We were also running Microbeast bonnets on the Vario. Those are made of microfiber, and microfiber can pull a lot of soil. You should have seen the bonnet when I pulled it off - it was nasty!

So we were utilizing two modes of cleaning:
(1) Encapsulation, and (2) Absorption.
That's where the dirt goes.

Could HWE pull more soil? Of course it could. But there are times and places where alternative methods have their place. CGD carpet is one place where maintaining a carpet with a good Encap system makes sense.

The point of what we demonstrated at the show was interesting though. It demonstrates how far a good Encap system can be pushed. This was clearly not a real world application. HWE would normally have been a good choice for that level of trashed carpet. But we were able to effectively show that a good Encap system could take a totally trashed carpet back to an acceptable appearance level. :eekk:

Bonnet capping and scrub padding with a 175 and a Cimex has changed my profit margin and decreased my physical work load. No question. Can't wait to do more and more and more. If you wanna keep burning a TM on commercial glue down someone is eventually gonna eat yer bacon. The visual results and customer satisfaction speak for themselves. Full steam ahead Rick.
