This rug came in today. White casings are alive! Moths (larvae) in area rugs and carpets are still a common threat to wool textiles. Make sure to identify them and don't mistake them for rice or other debris.

I knocked those rascals out by a long tumble dusting process

we demoth them with an insectide in a fine oil. spray on and bag in plastic for a couple of days. when we unbag it all the larva is dead and the rug can be cleaned. The fine oil doesn't have any impact on the rugs.

How do you buy insecticide?

I have a local supplier for the pest control industry nearby. He is allowed to sell this product to me even though I don't have to pest control license. It is a . 5 percent pyrethrin solution. We used to use diazinon but that has been banned apparently. When we unbag the rugs after demothing you can see the carcasses shriveled up and it is just a matter of removing them, their casings and washing. I envy you having the tumble duster. I bet that makes life a lot simpler.
