I am just curious what the best ways to get Water restoration work would be. I'm just getting into WR and would appreciate and info...

I'm thinking about sending a letter out to plumbers with a $250 referral fee if they refer work to me.

Also of course a nice yellow page..

Also going to speak with real estate agents.

Thanks,
Nick

You must find a plumber that doesn't already refer a larger restoration company. A friend of mine in another BNI said he wouldn't be allowed to refer another restoration company, his bosses orders. The restoration company refers his plumbing company alot

I'll give you a hint on working with plumbers from my perspective (I've been a plumbing contractor for over 10 years). Don't ever touch any plumbing or try to find the cause of the leak if you happen to get to the job before the plumber does.

I had a water restoration guy pull a water heater that I had just installed a few weeks earlier because a pipe burst underneath it and he was pulling the sub floor out. I told the client that the WR tech just voided the warranty on his 2 week old water heater. The client was not happy, neither was the insurance company. Just shut the water off to the entire building and do what you can without touching any of the plumbing. Let the plumber do the diagnosing and repairs of the plumbing system.

I'm glad you asked I was just going to post about my great results with Ivan Turners program "Show me an Edge", I have the box truck warming up to go to a broken pipe job as I type, this call was from the "Got a Leak" program in Ivan's module. It also helps you with hiring and setting up a director of marketing for your business. The "Got a Leak" program gets you more plumbers without paying referral fees. lol

I'm also on the BRC Mentor program and It was Scott who told me I was ready for a Director of Marketing and told me about Ivan's program.
I highly recommend them both.

I now have the Director of Marketing and Ivan's and Scott's programs rolling
and have done 15 or 16 water restoration jobs so far this year. Not bad for just starting up and It made my slow season my Sweet Season!
