It probably won't remove them, only hide them.
We used WD-40 in my laundromat for polishing over stainless steel polish for hiding softener stains and hard water deposit stains.

Any reputable window supply house will sell you the correct easiest stuff at a much lower price...Common sense people...You have water stains which absorbed into the glass...You need correct agent to dissolve and neutralize rocket science .An accelerate performance with heated water ...Allow dwell then agitate then rerinse 2 times clear or distilled . Abrasives which will not scratch can be used ... as in a Scotch type pad or extremely fine sand paper wetted in small circular motions .Also a razor going only one way when wet also helps to shave minerals off surface...The rest is inside needing to rinse out...But Jim P said it best ever since social media arrived...The Duh' crowd is in force on advice.
