Cleaned two red sofas on white carpet, of course we blocked it and now
we had two red circles around each one. I haven't seen it yet but what
a bitch. I have cleaned these couch's before without any issue's. I

until you get there and see there really isn't an answer. It the future you can do what I do and put the furniture on a drop cloth

I'd try flushing it first with a good rinse. Then if that don't work I'd try lots of peroxide. Possibly a good red stain remover, if the peroxide don't work. Oh and lots of time......but at some point replacement may be easier and more cost effective.

Don't discount the possibility that this is a lighting issue.

Clean pink / red sofas will reflect a pink cast onto white carpet. Just one of several possible explanations. Bring a high intensity light.

Ok I went back and sure as shit the red mark came out about 4 inches.
I was surprised because this is the second time I cleaned these couch's.
The blue blocks were still there( it's been 2 months). I rinsed then used
red one with steam heat made it a lot better. She is a great customer and
is ok with the little bit left. It is a light pink barely noticeably. I will go
back tomorrow and replace the couch's and do any touch ups.

Lee we clean a lot of furniture but never had this issue. I was amazed at how it spread out in front of the couch as we use driease
and never soak fabric. I like the white towel idea though.

Some dyes are more stable than others, red is notorious for releasing color. Not that there is much red carpet, but back in the old days waste water from cleaning a red carpet looked like fruit punch.

Drop cloth helps and as Lee said terry towels help dry the piece and as an added benefit you remove any extra soil as you wipe it down.

Time and exposure to light and heat will gradually weaken the dyes to the point that they WILL become a problem.
Best example of this is when you see a sun faded floral couch, DO NOT CLEAN IT !!
You will simply remove even more dye.

This is the biggest danger about doing your testing in a "hidden" area as an indicator of what will happen in an area that has been exposed to wear, air and light.
