What do you do with the used wax stripper?

So, I am still researching the whole floor stripping, refinishing topic, and I have not seen anything that says what you do with the waste product. After you use the wet vac to suck the waste up, where do you dump it, or is it green enough to go in the sewer?
Any help is appreciated.

I usually dump it into a treated sewage system (toilet) not outside on the ground. The jelly like stuff we scrape up from edges we let it harden and throw it out with the trash. I wouldn't dump it outside on the ground. It will kill grass and stain pavement. If you are really worried about it you can add some nuetralizer to it before you flush it. I don't add any, I figure it gets diluted well enough in the sewer.

By law it has to go into the sanitary sewer (down toilet or drain leading to treatment plant.) Dumping on the ground in the city here will get you a $10,000 fine. It WILL kill grass and plants too.. The slurry will contain solvents, butyls, and metals, depending on what you are using.

 Thank you all for your answers to my question!!
I did call our water department and found that indeed we are to dispose it in the sewer system.

PM me for tips on quickly disposing of used strippers.

Used strippers? We get our strippers from Las Vegas. Old Strippers come to Montana to make a few more bucks before they hang it up.

I just stumbled across this question while researching for a project lmao and I know this is about 9 years too late but I thought I’d reply anyways. I have no idea what floor stripper you are using but you usually shouldn’t dispose of it down the drain, most water waste plants can’t treat them properly. Most floor strippers are hazardous/corrosive (which basically means deterioration to pipes and dangerous to people and organisms.) you should probably dispose of the floor stripper at a eco depo near you. If you want to know if the product is hazardous or not I suggest looking at the sds for the product you are using. If you ever see this best of luck !

If they can put Clorox in our drinking water, we can put stripper in there sewer water. Just remember storm drains and sewer drains are different.
