I agree herculiner is the way to go, but you will need to put something over the liner as it will fade and get dirty. For me the best option was to apply the herculiner and then cover it with a non-slip rubber mat. The mat is easy to hose off and keep clean. Plus it reduces vibration and keeps things from sliding around. Some people like carpet and I would too if I lived in a place where it rained very little. I just think carpet would be harder to keep clean if you spilled chemical, oil, or just rolling up your hoses and getting a little grass etc. in the van. With the rubber mat you can scrub it with some soap and water and hose it out.

I want to try putting down some kind of sealer then using rubber backed carpet tiles. My presprays are all powder and carpet would hide the mess. I want some of the hog hair wool type I see in retail stores.
