The "best all around truck mount" in my book, is the one that have the least amount of down time.
The rest is pretty much fluff as long as it gives decent heat and vacuum.

Though the 'over testosteroned' carpet cleaner may think it does matter, the normal homeowner (unless one specializes in cleaning for male body builders) couldn't care less about what machine you have.

Changes in most vans are certainly coming, but rest assured, we are planning ahead and engineering ahead. The unibody frames will likely change the way all slide-ins are installed in most van models. The CDS won't be going away. We are already working on it. My guess is that Butler and Sapphire won't just up and abandon the PTO market either. You can safely plan on having both slide-ins and PTO units available well into the future. After all, it is our business.

What happened while I was gone. Judson used to be the flavor of the day. No one even mentioned it. I can't wait to see his new diesel , it's about time for a new machine.

Doyle;

Do you plan on having a Ford PTO in the 2013 year model ?

Which cargo vans that meet or exceed the 25.6 MPG standard, do you plan on using for PTO service ?

That is the 2013 Federal MPG standard that light trucks must meet.

Thanks;

Larry at what point did 3/4 and 1 ton vehicles become applicable to fuel economy standards? They have always been exempt. Seems a wise move would be to just make them all 3/4 ton and above.

I only had money for a slide in and not a van. I ended up going with a heat exchange system with a 34 hp kohler and a 47 blower. I believe 2500 psi clutched pump with both water bypass and manual exhaust diverters. Open concept machine very similar to a Cobb unit. I think going with an open concept was the best for me because I am 2 hours away from a truck mount mechanic and need something that is easy to work on and find parts for. Based on what I resurched after I add the fuel fired post heater the performance should be about the same as a c4

Jon,
There might be some money in figuring out a use for discarded slide-in cover panels cuz they're all open concept the first time an owner-op works on one.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyBi8906jw8 The only difference is I went a little cheap and got the 34 hp kohler which is more than powerfull enough. I think the hx'r will give great heat for carpet but I am adding a northstar diesel post heater for hot powerwashing and cleaning restaurant tile at high pressure and temps. I also got a 100 gallon waste tank and am using my butler 100 gallon fresh tank with the chem shelf. I really like the idea of the manual exhaust diverters and the fact that the plumbing coming off the blower isn't choked down and bent at all sorts of crazy angles. I can also take this one to any small engine or powerwasher repair shop for service since the nearest truckmount mechanic ( whos worth a crap ) is in st Louis which is about an hour and 45 minutes away from me . I am a little skeptical about dual wanding off of a 47 blower machine but I really have no need to dual wand and am more concerned with doing some serious single wand cleaning with higher flow and longer hose runs

Thanks Glynn for the kind comments on the Titan 575.

Larry, here are the answers to your questions earlier.

Do you plan on having a Ford PTO in the 2013 year model ?</SPAN>
We currently offer our CDS in the Ford 2013 E-series vans. If you meant to type 2014 Ford Transit (the E series equivalent), we are working on a solution currently, but it will not be available at the van’s launch.</SPAN>

Which cargo vans that meet or exceed the 25.6 MPG standard, do you plan on using for PTO service ?</SPAN>
Our Engineering Manager has politely offered to sedate me if I start making promises. All I’m allowed to say is that we are being proactive regarding vans for PTO installations.</SPAN>

That is the 2013 Federal MPG standard that light trucks must meet.</SPAN>
The van manufacturers are meeting this criteria using a few options available to them (aerodynamics, engine design, etc.). Quite frankly, the primary things we’re concerned with are payload capacity, packaging, available PTO power, and fuel tap kits. If van manufacturers start building UFO’s to meet the mpg requirements, we’ll likely still be asking them the same questions we currently do. </SPAN></SPAN>

I would have bought a big brand truck mount if I was about 45 minutes closer to st Louis. All the components on the machine I got are under warranty and can be serviced at a local small engine shop or lawn and garden supply. My machine will be slightly different as it will have a 100 gallon waste tank and have a spring loaded pressure relief valve rather than the cheesy garden spigot valve. Im curious to see how this machine will perform on tile and grout since the water box has been eliminated. On my white magic for some reason the water box couldn't keep up with high pressure cleaning and you would have to pause periodicly and let the water box refill. I think the pump on this one is pretty nice also Its a 5gpm and 2500 psi which paired up with the diesel post heater will be a monster on the commercial kitchen floors and dumpster pads we clean.

Sorry Bill....I HAD to edit your post and details....the stated party has threatened additional litigation if his name or product/details or ghetto engineering are mentioned. I can certainly understand how this would be frustrating....perhaps send him an email requesting he change his "demands"?

Edit: I know that may seem like me being a smartass....but it is no joke......... I have spent MANY hours removing all references AT HIS REQUEST...........:oldrolleyes:...nose...face...spite. The word censoring you attempted to override is in place AT HIS REQUEST.

I apologize for the inconvenience.

Jon;

Van PTO's still rely on a limited-power electric clutch for running the entire TM.

It can't reliably power a 4MR blower @ 17" of lift.

At 5 years, the PTO Van is looking ragged or wrecked.

A good slide-in will inexpensively transfer into that new van.

Our favorite 34HP HX TM:

Larry brings up some excellent points about PTOs. It used to be true that a cargo van started to look "ragged" or more accurately started rusting. That is no longer true. My '03 Express looks excellent with no rust and I fully expect it to survive another ten salty Michigan winters (although I'm entering uncharted waters here). That means that this van will last as long as my installed Pro1200; twenty years, 20K hours. That is REALLY bringing down the cost of the system when you amortize costs over twenty years. I would rather buy even a used PTO with 3K hours on it than even the very best slide in unit from Cobb or Judson or Prochem or whoever. You will have less maintenance with the PTO, no frequent belt changes, no super hot interior of the van, no van catching fire from a non-HX system. Just years and years of trouble-free operation. If you ever tried to start a slide-in's stalled large lawn mower engine inside your van on a hotsummer day, you will know the meaning of the word misery.

really Art, 10 years and NO rust? My 09 is starting to get a couple bubbles inside the side cargo door skins.

So far, so good Chris. The inside looks like a pigsty 'cause I'm such a slob but the outside looks good.

I'm with Gene......what happened to the Judson love? A Judson TM seems ideal for a single want setup IMO. Especially if a guy wants to keep it around forever.
