Fill hose would be great for Janitors closets but still more narrow than I prefer in a home or apartment.

Frank sorry I prefer a 5-gallon pail.....not a big gulp cup. :winky:

All portables are limited by the amount of electricity coming out of 120 v circuit
A 240 v circuit is unreliable as it doesn't exist everywhere....
Also they cannot go up stairs very easy.....
I started with a portable and scrubber..
Resturant owners won't let you in the door with a portable

Get a truckmount cut your labor in half get rid of one employee that doesn't want to work anyway
Keep the good worker or just do it yourself...
Spend the extra 5$ per hour on gas and cut your labor in half
A good truckmount can run 300 ft the length of a football field
By the time you plug unplug and plug in on a job you could be loaded up on your next job with your new truckmount
Do some research...some truckmounts are not complicated and easy to work on especially if you do not get heat exchangers...
Most engines blower and pumps will last 2000....3000 hours.....kero heaters will go 5000...10 k. hours or more just replace the coil
You can rebuild one for 5000$.... That's what I did with my naamco's......
A good truckmount will have less breakdowns than a portable .?

Excepting the 123 pound weight, the Nautilus looks just about perfect. If the balance and ease of loading are really that easy, the weight might not be an issue.

Bits of wisdom come from everywhere. Reading the ad copy I now know that eternity is twice as long as the life of the average electric blower motor. Or maybe, like dog years, this is portable eternity.

You won't like this Ofer, but here's the very best brand of pump I've ever used. 5 years of heavy use with no grief. I'd love to team this up with a pair of those 8.4 vacs. Next up is to get a pair of big stainless pots, build a base to hold the vacs. Yep - it's gonna look hokey,require 3 cords, heavy and awkward, but it'll beat the boogers out of most machines on the market. I bought that pump from Mr. Cobb years ago.
The problem I've had and seen with most machines available is planned obsolescence.Proprietary parts that fail prematurely. You're bent over and there isn't any "lube".

The power of the newer Mytee machine was an eye opener, as I could do a very deep cleaning with a portable, yet have it dry fairly fast. That however is not Mytee specific, as it is due to vac motor improvement

I really think you use the Mytee AirHog Plus/Waterbox. It has all the vac you can get from 2 15 amp circuits and the waterbox is a low amp 220 psi diaphragm pump. The design and build have some annoying flaws, particularly the stupid little wheels make it unstable and it will tip over (with the waterbox full of water LOL) but it has great potential. I took off the wheels and put it on a nifty cart. It's modular so nothing is too heavy for even a wimpy person to lift out of the vehicle. Autofill/autodump so you operate it as if you have a TM with a 33 blower next to the door.

I've thought about this one. What do you think about the 200 psi though?

The 220 psi pump is fine if you precondition the carpets with a HF and a 175 or run a rotary extractor. It works well for me and I'm sure you could make it work well. I do much of my work with the 90-100 psi hot water from a faucet without the use of the Waterbox, which I haven't used for a long time. I've been using a dual 3 stage CFX which does the same thing as an Air Hog Plus but weighs even less.

But Willy . . . you didn't tell them about the fire it also survived during those FIVE YEARS.

General Pumps . . . used on the best TM's nad Escape Electric TMs.

It will also fit in the Mytee 1006 portable with a 3/4 HP AC motor for cleaning Carpet @ 600 PSI and T&G @ 750 PSI.

Lots of good info here, but just wondering--does anyone have even indirect knowledge of or experience with the Daimer line of portys?

I've used their vapor steam equipment and its very high quality. Their portys are quite expensive, but should be of similar quality. The tile spinner is motorized.
