What makes a great Bonnet pad for Carpet Cleaners? How important is the outer covering. Is a higher grade toweling very important? Is thicker with a degree of stiffness important? What besides price is a consideration when you order Bonnet Pads?

Different pads for different uses Barry.

If you're a Chem Dry hack you'll want a poly bonnet that does not adsorb soil and lasts forever.

If you're a OP hack with a conscience you'll want a all cotton terry loop style pad that is thick enough so the pad driver bristols do not poke through, yet thin enough to work its way into the fibers and actually absorb dirt.

a sturdy binding that does not unravel or shred when coming in contact with transition strips or register covers is a plus.

For commercial I like pads that have very agressive strips in them.
(The hard black and brown strips not the whimpy green strips like most pads have.)
