Upholstery, stairs, apartment hallways, stripping and waxing, floods. In that order. 3 of them are my best money makers.

The drama among cleaners....that has to be the worst part of this business.

But on the flip side, it's the people of the business that keep my toes in it in some capacity....

I know that's not the answer you were looking for....

It seems for most from what I see in the chatter.... it's employees. Then again that's not specfic to this business....

I like the challenge of upholstery, I am a bit of an upholstery specialist but I hating the bending over parts. Back is not as supple as it used to be. I do bring a folding table when I know ahead of time that I have a lot of cushions to clean. Makes it a lot easier.

I'm only 5'11 its pretty easy to work on one knee. Plus its rarely soiled, mostly dust unless their is a dog the leaves a rub line.
Or they have a nose picker who likes to leave evidence of that on the outside part of the arm!! Back before protective gloves were a thing, I remember scrapping off some with my fingernail before I realized what it was. 🤮

I almost always wore a glove on my left hand to deal with the hot solution.

Especially with the Prochem upholstery tool. High heat melts those little crusties off, not pickin needed...unless that's your thing. 😉
