I just landed a contract on a few highrise apartments, I currently use my max 470 for everything but now i need to buy a portable i have an inexpensive 100psi pump portable now. But i need a more high powered one with heat. The local supplier pushed me towards the 500 psi olympus that was about 3000 but he reccommended the SOLUS 500psi for 4800. What do you guys suggest i buy? I wasnt looking forward to spending 4000 on a portable but i guess if i should i will...

Go to Baltimore Janitorial. Talk to Jack Bernstein, 410-362-6670. They carry Mytee. Save yourself some money.

I was just at a local distributor and he had some portys from US Products, they make the Cobra(I think that is the name) that has a reel and hoses mounted directly on the machine. You can also get an upgrade that will allow you to clean tile. It came with the Evolution wand as well. Seemed like a good deal for the price, somewhere around 4K.

that is a pretty nice machine, but looks like a typical 1.5" hose 100 cfm jobber?
Stairclimbing wheels wouldn't be that big of a deal if you could just run 50' of 2" hose.

Those wheels are nice, but I rather leave the machine on the ground level and run the booster at the top of the stairs. It's lighter and still gives the portable a boost. 2" FTW.

Can change out the 1 1/2 inch hose barb to a 2 inch on any machine and run 2 inch hose.

Have you done it, do you own one of these?

The area looks small to drill out and put in a 2" barb?

And it's still a 100 cfm machine.
