What types of carpet are not RE friendly?

Besides the obvious like weak seams, lumpy concrete glue downs and 800 count needlepoints, are there other wall to wall carpets that do not respond well to using a Rotary Extractor on them?

Streaking?
Tangling of the yarns?
Matting?

on a consistent basis?

P.E.T.

I hate that crap.

Maybe it has something to do with the hard water down here, but when I have a really trashed P.E.T., I have to nuke the stuff and scrub the heck out of it to get a decent result.

You don't run a softener? PET sucks in general, but I feel it responds well to good agitation of a RE

Friezes can be damaged by too much aggressive rotary action. Other more delicate weaves can fuzz, too. Any newer carpet with definite tight twists or cut pile can be fuzzed if not well lubricated or too much agitation.

I would day a felted wool. Alot of wool is delicate I would day it would and could fuzz up a nice Wilton weave wool.
