I am sure most of you know we went through some hard times when the economy went bad and we had to relocate when we started the carpet cleaning biz, but one of the cool perks we do have is River front access to the beautiful Sacramento River.
So the last couple of years now when I get done working I give Missy a call to meet me at one of our drop off points. She takes my truck and meets me at one of them. We drop the truck off and head home and enjoy a 45, 1.5 or 3 hour float down to the truck.
Well last year we though it would be awesome to do a float from our house all the way down to Red Bluff,Ca.
It is a 45-50 mile float, it took us two days and it was a absolute blast, got to see a few Bald Eagles, Fished, swam, camped just had a blast!! We are getting ready to do it again soon but this time our kids are going to come down with us.
This is some of our pics from our first trip...It was super fun.
The launch.

I have caught many trout in the evenings, I just wait till the last 40 minutes of the day and just go out for the evening bug hatch and if the fish are on can usually bring in 3-5 fish in that time, I don't keep them, just give them a little kiss and let them go for another day.
Oh our dogs got to go with us too pink one is Milley...she is mine and yellow is Kitty he is Missy's brat

Nice.
And boy does it get hot in Redding.

Do you also go up to Shasta?
Beautiful country.
Yes we do.
I can say it gets crazy hot in Redding. Sometimes it can be just down right dumb, and we ask what the heck are we doing here. Then it backs off and you get to enjoy a lot of things that drew us here to begin with.
It is hot but if it is a dry heat it can shock you when you go by a temp sign and it is hotter than you think, what sucks is when the humidity gets mixed in with it....oh does that suck.
I need to find the pics of the water falls we hiked up to..they are on the way up to Shasta. It was beautiful couldn't believe we were in the same area once we walked up to it.

My kid's apartment over looks that river.

Next time let me know and I'll have her load up her sling shot.
There are a few places that overlook the river and the sundial bridge, it is a beautiful view. We have a customer that invited us to a 4th of July party to see the fireworks show...it was a awesome view. I was going to clean one the other day in RN condos for a client of mine, but the carpet needed to be replaced it was time.
I bring my wife with me on some of them so she can take some pics.

Nice thing about the whole Redding area, is that when you want to buy property there you have to sign a disclosure form.
It says that you've been informed that if the Shasta Damn cracks, you'll get a free ride all the way to the ocean. And not necessarily in one piece.

Just nice to know that one's living dangerously.

I guess with the drought, that's not a big deal these days.
