I think it's a tool made for tools.
Neutralizes chemicals from water into a distilled or de-ironized water.
Really, just how much difference is it going to make to the cleanliness of any carpet, who will notice that difference, and who will pay the extra for it??
After the carpet is cleaned will it take longer to get dirty again??

Primarily used to alkalize drinking water. I went to a demo of the unit a few yeas ago and had an interesting reaction to the water. You might be able to do spot cleaning with the acid or alkaline water but would need something much larger to produce enough water for carpet cleaning.
